SUNSETTER MOTORIZED AWNING PROTECTIVE COVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

TOOLS NEEDED:
Measuring tape, Pencil, Step Ladder, Chalk Line, 1/8" Drill Bit,
Phillips Screwdriver. For masonry installation only: 3/16" masonry
bit.
INSTALLING THE WALL FASTENERS FOR THE PROTECTIVE COVER
NOTE: We recommend installing the wall fasteners for the protective cover one at a time, beginning with the one to the far right. Once the first is installed, you will use the actual protective cover as the template for the grommet spacing between all the holes.
1. Locate the supplied fasteners and screws used to secure the protective cover to the wall.
2. Measure up 3/4" from the top of the wall brackets and make a mark on the wall -- see figure 1.
3. On the mark, snap a level chalk line along the entire length of the awning. On the chalk line, mark the location of the right end of the awning. Along the chalk line you just made, measure 1" further to the right of the awning end point and make a mark. This is the location of the first fastener on the right for the protective cover -- see figure 1.
4. Place one fastener on the mark. Orient the fastener so that both screw holes are on the chalk line. Using a pencil, mark both holes -- see figure 1.
5. For wood frame installation: Using a 1/8" drill bit, drill pilot holes approximately 1" deep. Secure the fastener with two #6 x 1-1/2" Phillips screws supplied.
6. For masonry installation: Using a 3/16" masonry drill bit, drill the holes approximately 3/4" deep. Insert the plastic wall anchors and drive them flush with the masonry surface. Secure the fastener with two #6 x 1/2" long phillips screws supplied.
7. Remove the cover from its packaging. Orient the cover so that the sewn hem is facing down and against the wall -- see inset in figure 2. Place the first grommet of the protective cover over the first installed fastener. When the grommet is placed to the base of the fastener, the tab will be able to rotate down to the locked position.
8. Extend the cover to the left and keep it taut. Then mark the center of the next grommet hole centered on the chalk line.
9. Repeat the previous installation steps for the remaining wall fasteners.
NOTE: The ends of the protective cover are designed to extend approximately 1-1/2" beyond the overall width of the awning.
ATTACHING THE COVER TO TO FASTENERS ON THE WALL
10. Connect each grommwe to its respective fastener with the sewn hem facing down and against the wall -- see figure 2.
11. Lay the cover on the awning. The awning will roll out of and back under the cover when opening and closing respectively.
12. For more secure covering during the winter time, use the bungee cords supplied to secure the cover to the square bar, underneath the awning -- see figure 2.
